How It Was Created
The first Jonny Cage was made when Jon was looking for a similar product online. What he found was either too expensive for booths that wouldn't attenuate the drummer or the sounds in the studio. In short, what we wanted and needed did not exist.
Being an experienced engineer*, Jon leveraged that experience towards building a product that he and his friends would be happy to use for recording in-house drumming sessions.
When we built our first drum booth, (above) folks in the band would joke around saying "Jonny, get in the cage!" This served as the inspiration for the name, and a one-of-a-kind product was invented; The Jonny Cage Free Standing 6X6 drum attenuating booth.
